TEF Canada Preparation
TEF Canada (Test d’Évaluation de Français)
is an official French language test recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
It evaluates French proficiency for candidates applying for Permanent Residency and other immigration programs through Express Entry.
This examination assesses language competence and converts scores into CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) levels used to calculate CRS points.
Duration:
Intensive Exam Preparation (focused on CLB target): 12–16 weeks (2–3 sessions/week)
Full Preparation Path (for absolute beginners to CLB 7–9): ~ 8–12 months

Examination Structure
- Listening (Compréhension Orale) – 40 minutes
40 multiple-choice questions - Reading (Compréhension Écrite) – 60 minutes
40 multiple-choice questions - Writing (Expression Écrite) – 60 minutes
2 writing tasks (structured response & argumentative task) - Speaking (Expression Orale) – 15 minutes
2 speaking tasks (information exchange & opinion-based interaction)
Scores are converted into CLB levels for Canadian immigration purposes.
Results are valid for 2 years.
